ICYMI: Emeril Lagasse is in town. The superstar chef and host of “Emeril’s Florida” is set to film a segment with Stuart and Nancy Borton of the Yellow Dog Cafe in Malabar this week.
To get a taste of what that’ll look like, Food Network will air the “Florida Caviar, Clams and Rock Shrimp … Really?” episode at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. In the episode, Lagasse paid a visit to Aqua Gem Farms in Sebastian (indianriverclams.com), Wild Ocean Seafood Market at Port Canaveral and Dixie Crossroads Restaurant in Titusville.
Lagasse, an avid fisherman, spotlights the “machine that splits the rock shrimp” at Dixie Crossroads and interviews a Sebastian family that distributes 10 million to 15 million clams a year.
The show is co-sponsored by Visit Florida and the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association. Earlier this week, Lagasse performed a cooking demo at a FRLA convention in Orlando. He also posted pics and Tweets of his visit to Universal Orlando.
FLORIDA TODAY confirmed with the Bortons that Lagasse will film at the restaurant for a future episode.
