Sixty Plus Food Trucks Compete to Determine Best Food in Town
The largest food truck culinary cook off is coming to Central Florida. The first annual Hula-licious event allows 60 plus food trucks to show off their culinary skills against other food trucks in their selected categories. The public gets a chance to vote for the best overall food truck and winner gets the “Grand People’s Choice Award”.
The Food trucks will participate in the Hula-licious culinary cook-of and compete in 22 “Best Of” categories. Judging is according to blind taste tests done by notable chefs, food and beverage professionals and food editors. Hosted by the National Association of Catering Executives at UCF (Student Chapter).
Hula-licious will be on Sunday, October 5 from 11 am to 7 pm at Pines of Windermere (OUC’s Camp Downs) 8409 Maguire road, Windermere, Florida 32786. Admission is $5.00 and free for kids under 12. Parking for the event is free.
A mix of live performances will feature DJ entertainment and three live bands. Musical performances by Ricky Vazquez, The Downs Brothers and Men With Mortgages will be scheduled throughout the day. The “Kids’ Zone” features an area for children under 13 to enjoy, with a $10 wristband purchase. Coca-cola products and water available for purchase at beverage tents. Beer tents to serve Kona beer and Budweiser on draft. The event will close with an award ceremony announcing the winners of each “Best Of” category and the “Grand People’s Choice Award”.
